There is a conflict with the USB to Serial drivers needed for our older cables (Prolific USB to Serial version 2007) and the Latest Win10 automatic update. Installing this driver is causing a Windows conflict that will cause a Windows reboot. At this point, there are only a couple of options if you are using our “single-molded” USB adapter cable.
You can order a special cable and adapter: RJ-11 to DB-9 Serial cable with a newer USB to Serial Adapter.
Install and move TimeVue to another PC running an earlier version of Windows. The original CD is needed to do this.
If you have someone local that can assist, or if you feel comfortable, you can also try going back to a “previous build” of Windows before the update occurred and disable automatic Windows updates temporarily.
Upgrade to one of our newer Web Based Time Clock Systems.
TIP: All customers are strongly encouraged to upgrade to one of our newer TotalPass systems. This Web enabled clock does not require a software installation and is compatible with all operating systems.

If you are using an older RJ-11 to DB-9 Serial cable with a separate USB to Serial adapter, you can purchase a newer Win10 compatible adapter off the internet or at a local PC store. Simply replace the USB to Serial adapter you are currently using and install the newer drivers that come with the newer adapter.
